EU and US scholarship are on a similar track. Today's focus on Article 82 EC can be symetrically observed on the other side on the Atlantic. The proof hereafter:
The eighth annual American Antitrust Institute (AAI) national conference will be held on June 21, 2007 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. This year the conference theme is "The Future of Monopoly and Monopolization." The topic is timely for a number of reasons, including the pending report of the Antitrust Modernization Commission, the on-going joint FTC-DoJ hearings on single-firm conduct, the European Commission's review of exclusionary conduct, and the impact of several recent Supreme Court opinions.
Attendees will hear presentations from Assistant Attorney General Thomas O. Barnett, UNCTD's Philippe Brusick, UCLA Economist William Comanor, and others. In addition, there are six facilitated discussion sessions for specific topics. Experts will introduce topics in each session, but the sessions are intended to elicit broad participation.
The conference includes a gala luncheon, at which the Jerry S. Cohen Award for Antitrust Scholarship and the AAI Antitrust Achievement Award are presented. A special presentation will be made to career civil servants.
